After many years as a successful bowler with his club side, Andy made the breakthrough to the mational side in 1994 when he appeared against both Denmark and Netherlands during the Triangular Tournament in Holland. He bowled exceptionally well last year at Headingley, recording figures of 10-1-29-2 against Yorkshire in the Benson & Hedges Trophy but his best figures are 3 for 28 against Ireland (also in 1996). He also had a five wicket haul while opening the bowling in a non-capped game against Ireland.
