Match Report
The two captains step forward to share the trophy. What an outstanding effort from both sides, a shame that there's only one Test. The two teams get together for a photo. What an extraordinary five days these were, which ended in a stalemate. Thanks for joining in through the five days, hope to catch you all soon. Till then, this is me Ashish Pant, signing off on behalf of Abhijato and Ranjith. Ciao!
Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh captain: It is disappointing but they played brilliantly. We couldn't take opportunities. The fast bowlers have been doing a very good job, I expected the spinners to come into the match; they tried but Afghanistan played very good cricket. The boys are really, prepared to play the next series. [On Litton Das] Really outstanding, the way Litton played. Not just this match, the last few years, he has been great behind the stumps. To keep 140 overs in this hear, he shows plenty of character. I hope he can continue his batting and keeping. [On Hasan Mahmud] Whenever I give him the ball, he does the job for the team, along with Ebadot, Taskin, Rana. I hope they will continue that way that they have in the last few years.
Litton Das is the player of the match: [On how tough was it] It was really tough, because it was very hot. Playing five days in this heat was very tough. I just wanted to focus on my energy in this heat. We want to win the match, but sometimes that's how it goes in cricket. [Batting] I practice one net session and I feel the confidence coming back. The wicket was flat, and I missed in the first innings, but the second innings, I was not going to leave it. [Best catch]Hasan's second wicket, the hat-trick balls, was the best for me

5.16pm This is what Test cricket is all about! Afghanistan were gone, with not many giving them a chance. But they fought, and fought with every ounce of strength they had, to pull off a remarkable escape. Sediqullah Atal batted for 332 balls to score 111. He had support from Hashmatullah Shahidi, Ikram Alikhil and Ismat Alam. But once Atal fell in the final session, it seemed like the end for Afghanistan. But Qais Ahmed and Yamin Ahmadzai stood firm like a rock. There were moments, oh, so many moments! Both batters could have been run out quite early, Qais Ahmed was like a cat on a hot tin roof, but once they settled down, they grinded it out. Even Zia-Ur-Rehman did his job defending 12 balls. There was more drama in the end, with Qais going down clutching his hamstring. And in the end, Afghanistan survived for 142 overs in what should be seen as a win. Rashid Khan, who is sitting on the grass banks, claps while there is absolute pandemonium in the Afghanistan camp.
This is the fourth-most overs a team has batted in the fourth innings to save a Test match
Bacha: "Chaos Ahmad must have nerves of steel. How can he be this calm and courageous in such a difficult situation? Salute to Qais. Luck favored him, but that cannot take away anything from his courage and nerve control."
Mo: "We've witnessed two wonderful test matches over the past 5days....."
Sudhakar: "Afghanistan has pulled it off. This reminds me of Gambhir pulling off a draw against NZ in NZ against all odds many many years ago.So so happy for them.Test cricket is well and truly kicking. "
Machakaari : "A draw which was an edge of the seat thriller! Many congratulations to Afghanistan for refusing to back down ! "
Sowmya : "What a rearguard from Qais Ahmed ! "
AD: "137.6 Shannon Gabriel in another life "

Afghanistan have batted out 142 overs in the fourth innings to eke out a famous draw! What a monumental effort this has been from Afghanistan, a display of grit and resilience. And now, with the hard work done, Qais can finally let loose, can't he! Floated on the stumps, he picks the bones out of it and launches it miles over deep midwicket. He pumps his fists in delight, embraces his batting partner and then sinks into sajda to thank the almighty. He finishes one short of fifty, but he won't bothered by that. A fitting end to an extraordinary fightback. Afghanistan have had plenty of glory stories in their career. This might rank right up!

Full toss, he misses and he is hit on the pad. Loud appeal for lbw, but surely that was sliding down. Gently tossed up on leg stump, he goes for a wild hoick and misses

Tossed up on the stumps, he defends back to the bowler. Oh, dear, me! Qais is flat on the floor clutching his left hamstring. Oh, this is T20 World Cup all over again. Look at Shanto's face. The physio runs out to tend to Qais who is having his hamstring stretched. Lots of poker faces all around. Qais, meanewhile, looks in severe pain and is having his hamstring rubbed. Nine minutes to go till play can carry on... eight. Qais is back on his feet. We continue. Seven minutes
