Profile & Biography

Jack Davies, a left-handed keeper-batter, retired from professional cricket aged 26 after losing his place in the Middlesex team. He did not make a first-team appearance in his final season, and marked his exit by running 24 marathons in as many days to raise money for charity.
After joining Middlesex's academy from Berkshire, Davies was captained by Harry Brook and played alongside Tom Banton and Will Jacks at the Under-19s World Cup in 2017-18, where he made half-centuries against Canada and New Zealand. He made his first-team debut in 2020, and later became a regular in Middlesex's struggling T20 side; in 2023, he put the finishing touches on a remarkable chase of 253 against London rivals Surrey at The Oval.
He was backed to become a first-team regular across formats by Richard Johnson when John Simpson left for Sussex, but fell out of favour under first Dane Vilas and later Peter Fulton, and quietly called time on his career at the end of his contract after spending the 2026 summer playing second-team cricket.
