Bas de Leede

Born into one of Dutch cricket's best-known families, Bas de Leede followed in the footsteps of his father, Tim, to become a cornerstone of the Netherlands side. A seam-bowling allrounder, he debuted for the national team in 2018 at 19 and quickly became a fixture in both white-ball formats.

In 2022 he was instrumental in Netherlands breaking through to the Super 12s of the T20 World Cup - he was the tournament's second-highest wicket-taker jointly with Sam Curran, picking up 13.

De Leede's 2023 began on a high - he was named the ICC's Associate Men's Cricketer of the Year. His breakout moment, though, came in the 2023 ODI World Cup Qualifier, where he produced one of the most notable all-round performances for Netherlands, taking 5 for 52 and scoring 123 off 92 balls against Scotland to help seal their qualification for the senior tournament and becoming only the fourth player in ODI history to take a five-for and score a century in the same match.

In the World Cup proper that followed, he took a four-for and top-scored with another fifty against Pakistan, albeit in a losing cause. He also finished that tournament as Netherlands' leading wicket-taker. Despite a brutal outing against Australia, where he conceded a record 115 runs, de Leede's World Cup campaign cemented his reputation as a high-impact player with bat and ball.

Earlier that year, he turned out for Durham in his first County Championship season, taking 17 wickets in his six games as his side won the second-division title.
