Aamer Jamal

After making his Pakistan debut in the T20I series against England ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup, seam-bowling allrounder Aamer Jamal reaffirmed his commitment to the red-ball game by immediately returning north to join his domestic first-class side. He followed it with an extraordinary 17-over spell that returned his then best figures of 8 for 120, underlining his credentials as a bowler who thrives in the longer format.

That performance helped earn him selection for Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka in July 2023, although he spent both Tests on the bench. His opportunity came in Australia later that year, where he announced himself in Test cricket with 6 for 111 on debut in Perth. In Sydney, he showcased his all-round ability with a belligerent 82 and 6 for 69, though Pakistan lost the series 3-0.
