The son of mathematics and economics teachers, Delhi wicketkeeper Tejasvi Dahiya went unsold in the IPL 2025 auctions, but in 2026, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 3 crore. That was ten times his base price of INR 30 lakh, after a bidding war with Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. The deal was a result of his exploits in the 2025 season of the Delhi Premier League, where he finished as the tournament's second-highest six-hitter and scored 339 runs at a strike-rate of nearly 200. He had trialled for seven teams in the lead-up to the IPL 2026 auctions.
