Tahlia McGrath

Tahlia McGrath, a versatile batter and bustling pace bowler, made her international debut aged 21 against South Africa in 2016 then featured in the 2017-18 Ashes, including a Test debut where she made 47, adding a century stand with Ellyse Perry, but after that series it would be three years until her next opportunity.

And after an initial comeback game against New Zealand, during the 2020-21 Covid summer, the 2021-22 season marked her resurgence where she became a key part of the white-ball middle orders. Her first four T20I innings were 42 not out, 44 not out and a brilliant unbeaten 91 during the 2021-22 Ashes. After 10 T20I innings she held the astonishing average of 121.25 with a strike-rate of 149.69.

Her first major mark in ODIs had come with 74 against India in Mackay when she helped Beth Mooney forge a remarkable chase and she was part of the side for the 2022 ODI World Cup.

In Test cricket, McGrath made four half-centuries in six innings against England and India in 2022 and 2023. During 2023 her leadership credentials were acknowledged when she was named Alyssa Healy's vice-captain, a role which grew in significance when Healy suffered a run of injuries. She was considered a frontrunner to replace Healy as full-time captain, but her form became a concern during 2025 and ultimately she was named a joint vice-captain under Sophie Molineux.

As captain of Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL she led the club to back-to-back titles in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
