Sobhana Mostary

Sobhana Mostary emerged from Bangladesh's youth system as a precocious batting talent and has grown into a versatile member of the national side across formats.

Born in Rangpur, Mostary began playing cricket with boys in her neighbourhood before joining the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan, the country's premier sports institute. Her natural strokeplay stood out early, earning her a place in structured training despite being younger than the usual intake age.

Mostary received her first senior international call-up in April 2018 for Bangladesh's tour of South Africa. She made her ODI debut in May 2018, at the age of 16, becoming one of Bangladesh's youngest ODI debutants at that time.

Her introduction to international cricket was a stern test against the pace of Marizanne Kapp and Shabnim Ismail, a challenge that shaped her earliest days at the highest level. She scored her maiden ODI half-century - 60 against England - at the 2025 ODI World Cup, seven years after her debut.

She made her T20I debut against Netherlands during the T20 World Cup qualifier in Scotland in August 2019.

A right-hand batter, Mostary has filled multiple roles in the batting order, from the top order to the middle and lower-middle order depending on the team's needs. As of the end of 2025, she has featured in five World Cups for Bangladesh: three in the T20 format and two in ODIs.
