Oliver Peake

The diminutive left-hander was earmarked as an Australian batting prodigy at an early age. Following in the footsteps of his father Clinton, who made a triple century for Australia's Under-19s and played first-class cricket for Victoria, Peake made a splash in his first Under-19 ODI World Cup as a 17-year-old when he scored 46 not out off 43 balls in the 2024 final as Australia claimed the title against India.

Later that same year he made Youth ODI and Test centuries against the same opponents in India. That propelled him to his BBL debut for Melbourne Renegades before he made a half-century on Sheffield Shield debut for Victoria in March 2025.

Australia's selectors were so impressed that he made his List A debut for Australia A against Sri Lanka A a few months later where he made an unbeaten 55. He added 92 in a four-day match during the same series and toured India with Australia A in September of 2025. It meant he had played three first-class games for Australia A before his second appearance for Victoria, where he also starred with 70 not out in a winning fourth-innings chase.

He pulled off another heist in a BBL game in January 2026 when he made 42 not out off 30 balls, including flicking the last ball for six, to beat eventual champions Perth Scorchers in Perth.

Peake then captained Australia's Under-19s at the World Cup and made twin centuries including an 85-ball ton in a losing semi-final to England.

Despite a lean second half of the Shield season, which did include another half-century against South Australia, Australia selectors picked him for his first ODI squad to tour Pakistan.
