Nathan McAndrew

Right-arm seamer McAndrew carved out a niche as a reliable T20 operator prized for his heavy lengths and variations at the death. He built a long career with Sydney Thunder in the BBL, after first breaking through as an injury replacement and playing two matches in his first season with them, when they won the title.

A late bloomer in red-ball cricket, McAndrew moved to South Australia in 2021 and quickly became a key wicket-taker, combining accuracy with lower-order aggression with the bat. He bloomed in the 2023-24 Shield season, taking 48 wickets at under 19, and was similarly prolific, with 40 wickets in his eight games the following season, when the side won their first Shield title in nearly three decades. McAndrew reprised his role in 2025-26, starring in the final with six wickets and an important 60 from No. 9 as South Australia retained the title.

In the BBL he took 13 wickets apiece in 2021-22 and the following season, and starred with 5 for 16 against Melbourne Stars early in 2025. Later that year, in his third season for Sussex in the T20 Blast in England, he produced more standout performances - 5 for 19 and 6 for 21 - in home and away matches against Glamorgan.
