Profile & Biography

Milton Pydanna player profile

A wicketkeeper-batter who found it tough to enter the legendary West Indies side of the 1970s and 1980s in the presence of the fabulous Jeff Dujon, Milton Pydanna represented his country only in three ODIs. Even across those matches, he got to bat just once, when he faced three deliveries to score two.
The first two of the three ODIs came on the tour of Pakistan in 1980, when Pydanna had Javed Miandad caught and stumped once each off Colin Croft and Viv Richards, respectively. But his next chance arrived only three years later, when he was selected to tour India. In the fifth and final ODI, in Guwahati, Pydanna took a catch but didn't get to bat as West Indies' top and middle orders chased down 183 in a shortened game.
Pydanna spent years as Dujon's understudy, in the meantime playing 85 first-class matches and 27 List A games until 1987-88. The majority of those matches came for Guyana, while Pydanna also represented Berbice in domestic cricket. In 2014, he was named as one of the two assistant coaches of USA's national side.
