Profile & Biography
A left-hand batting allrounder who operates in the middle order and bowls right-arm seam, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton burst into the record books and public consciousness when he smashed the fastest century in men's T20Is at the time, off 33 balls against Nepal in 2024.
Loftie-Eaton was part of Namibia's squad for the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, and rose through the ranks to make his T20I debut in April 2021. An ODI debut followed in November that year and he soon became a regular fixture in the team.
Loftie-Eaton contributed 20 off 12 balls in Namibia's famous win over Sri Lanka in the first round of the 2022 T20 World Cup. While he failed to make much of an impact in T20Is in general, he found form in ODIs, scoring 73 in his fourth game and two days after, producing the first in a hat-trick of half-centuries.
He was named Namibia's captain for the African Games in Ghana the following month, but sent back home for an undisclosed transgression and faced disciplinary proceedings which saw him sit out for a year, and also miss selection for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
