Profile & Biography
A dependable middle-order batter who plays an anchoring role, Aarif Sheikh was a key figure in Nepal's run to the 2016 Under-19 World Cup quarter-finals, starring in wins over New Zealand and Ireland.
After making his senior international debut in 2018, Sheikh, who is a fan of Kevin Pietersen, cemented his place with his first ODI fifty against Papua New Guinea in 2022 and emerged as a consistent performer in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, scoring nearly 600 runs in the 2019-2023 cycle and 662 in the next, which included match-winning knocks of 51 not out against Scotland in Dallas in 2024, 78 and 84 against Netherlands in 2025, and 43 off 24 balls from No. 7 against Oman the year after.
Sheikh, who can also chip in with a few overs of medium pace when required, was a member of Nepal's 2026 T20 World Cup squad, although he didn't bat in their only win, against Scotland. His younger brother Aasif also plays for Nepal.
