Dasun Shanaka slammed a century in 39 balls as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots beat St Lucia Kings by a whopping 137 runs in their CPL 2026 game in Basseterre on Thursday night. Here's the story of the game in numbers.
137 - The margin of victory for Patriots in terms of runs - the biggest in CPL history.
The previous highest was Trinbago Knight Riders' 133-run win over Barbados Royals in CPL 2023.
39 - Balls Shanaka took to get to his century - one fewer than the previous fastest hundred in the CPL, which was held jointly by Andre Russell (2018), Tim Seifert (2025) and Shimron Hetmyer (2025).
281.39 - Shanaka's strike rate in his innings of 121* - the highest for a century in the CPL. This bettered Hetmyer's strike rate of 258.13 in his unbeaten 111 against Knight Riders earlier in the season.

4 - Number of hundreds for Shanaka in T20s. This makes him one of only four batters with four or more centuries batting at No. 4 or lower in the format.
Glenn Maxwell, with six hundreds, is ahead of Shanaka on the table, while David Miller and Suryakumar Yadav also have four hundreds from those positions.
9.3 - The point at which Shanaka walked out before scoring 121* in 43 balls. This is the latest point-of-entry for a century-maker in the CPL. Before this, the record stood at 9.2 overs, for Andre Russell against Knight Riders in the qualifying finals of the 2016 season.
Where fall-of-wickets information is available in all T20s, Shanaka's entry point is the sixth latest. Scott Styris hit a 37-ball 100 after walking in at 11.3 for Sussex against Gloucestershire in 2012 - that's the latest point-of-entry for a century-maker in T20s where information is available.

9 - Sixes hit by Shanaka in the last four overs of Patriots' innings - joint-highest in the last four overs of a T20 innings where ball-by-ball information is available.
This is the second time Shanaka has pulled off the feat. He hit nine sixes in the last four overs against Rangpur Rangers while playing for Cumilla Warriors in the 2019 Bangladesh Premier League as well. Sikandar Raza (for Zimbabwe against Gambia in 2024) and Yuvraj Singh (for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils in 2014) are the other batters to achieve this.
0 - Number of five-fors by Patriots bowlers in the CPL before Jeremiah Louis' 5 for 10 in this match. Their previous best was Tabraiz Shamsi's 4 for 10 against Barbados Tridents in 2015.
Louis' figures are the third-best in the league after Shakib Al Hasan's 6 for 6 for Tridents against Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel in 2013 and Sohail Tanvir's 5 for 3 for Guyana Amazon Warriors against Tridents in 2017.
