Bangladesh 272 (Shadman 105, Warrican 5-53, Joseph 2-41, Bishop 2-61) vs West Indies
Jomel Warrican's 5 for 53 triggered Bangladesh's batting collapse on the second day, as they folded for 272. Warrican took wickets off successive balls eight minutes before the lunch break to get his fourth five-wicket haul.
Bangladesh started the day on 213 for 3, and ended up losing their last seven wickets for just 59 runs. The last five wickets fell for 19 runs, with Litton Das unbeaten on 34.
Apart from Warrican's five wickets, West Indies' fellow left-arm spinner Joshua Bishop, who was on debut, took two wickets, while Shamar Joseph also got two.
Shadman Islam resumed on his overnight score of 99, and reached his third Test century off the second ball of the day when he worked the ball on the leg side for a double. With that, Shadman kept the record of overnight batters unbeaten on 99 always reaching a century intact.
He struck Warrican down the ground before becoming Bishop's first Test wicket. Shadman made the mistake of going back to playing the left-arm spinner's delivery turning into his front pad. Shadman, who made 105 off 234 balls with 11 fours, reviewed the out decision but didn't survive.
Bishop got his second when Towhid Hridoy missed a full delivery. Returning to the crease on the second morning after suffering from cramps on the first evening, Hridoy lasted just two balls as he played a shot without moving his feet at all, falling on his overnight score of 42. Mehidy Hasan Miraz offered a bit of resistance, hitting Bishop for couple of fours, before Litton got hit on his elbow from a Jayden Seales delivery. Warrican, meanwhile, removed Mehidy with a delivery that spun back through his bat and pad.
Joseph struck twice thereafter, first getting Nayeem Hasan caught at second slip for 5. He had Hasan Mahmud caught behind for 6, before Warrican completed his five-wicket haul with the wickets of Taijul Islam and Shoriful Islam in consecutive balls.
Shadman held Bangladesh together on the truncated first day on which they lost Tanzid Hasan, Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto early. He added 88 with Hridoy, before the latter retired hurt.
