We hope you enjoyed our coverage, and you can stay updated with all that is happening in the world of cricket with Cricinfo. Until next time, this is me (Shashwat), signing off on behalf of our scorer (Sudeep), and all of us at Cricinfo. Ciao!
5:17pm Some wholesome interactions between the Indian cricketers and the Indian supporters. A few selfies being clicked as both the cricketers and the fans try to capture a historic moment.

4:56pm If you thought the win in the semi-final was commanding, well, this was on another level altogether. India scored more. They did it against a better side, and then they barely allowed SL a sniff. Shafali inflicted much of the powerplay damage before the rest of the bowlers followed suit. SL may have believed as long as Athapaththu was at the crease but once Deepti dismissed her (again), it was an arduous road back for SL.
Almost all of the Indian bowlers chipped in. Their batters, of course, set up the game earlier, and this is a moment all of these cricketers will now remember and savour for the rest of their lives. India are gold medalists in the women's cricket event at the Asian Games, and such was their dominance - today and throughout the comp - that it never seemed in doubt.

Patil to Kaushini Nuthyangana

there it is - Hangzhou was conquered in 2023 and now, Nagoya has been added to the list! India defend their gold medal, and this has, to put it mildly, been a demolition job! Zipped in very full on middle and leg. Nuthyangana has a slog at it and misses. She hears the rattling of her stumps soon after, and the Indian bench runs out proudly with the national flag wrapped over their shoulder. India's first gold medal at this edition of the Asian Games, and they have been full value for it today!

a run-out now! Back of a length on leg. Hacked into the on side. There is some confusion on the second. Ayodhya wanted to come back for the second for Nuthyangana but Nuthyangana was not quite ready. The throw goes to the batter's end and by the time Ayodhya turns, the ball is already in Ghosh's gloves. Easy run-out, and SL are now nine down!

Deepti Sharma to Kumari

Ghosh needs two attempts, but she holds on! Pushed across the batter outside off. Kumari shapes for the big slog sweep and gets a faint top edge. Ghosh reacts to her left but only manages a parry first time out. She then holds her nerve, keeps her eyes on the ball and completes the catch on the second go, helped by a lunge to her left!
